An ELMO document camera can open up many doors for my students! With the ELMO and projector, students can have greater access to class texts, math problems, and the work of their peers. The ELMO provides students an opportunity to see each other's thinking, highlight parts of a favorite text, or share their thinking surrounding how they solved a problem. Without an ELMO, this type of collaborative learning experience would be challenging for my students. With the help of the ELMO, students' work can be projected so that the whole class can see a class text, another student's writing or math work, and different strategies to solve a problem. As a teacher, the ELMO will allow me to effectively model my own thinking in both reading and math. Students can follow my thinking with the use of the document camera and then can share their own thinking with their classmates in a way that allows all students to actively share in the learning experience.
