I am fundraising to provide a classroom set of headphones (35) for my students.
One time during the year that these are necessary is when students watch and listen to one another's multimedia projects at the end of our Henrietta's Dance unit. Pairs and small groups will collaborate on biomedical research projects. This project combines standards in English language arts and science to present information about a disease or condition and research efforts to find treatments or a cure. Once the projects are complete, students will view and hear two other projects, giving feedback to the creators. Then students will review criticism of their projects and make any changes necessary to improve the presentation.
Currently, I rely on students to bring their own ear buds or headphones, but many use wireless or iPhone devices that are not compatible with school computers.
