World War I Movie Production

Class demographic: Inclusion classes, 8th grade students, age 13-15

Measurable Objectives:

SWBAT: Identify ways Americans on the home front contributed to the war effort.
SWBAT: Describe how the U.S. developed and deployed its armed forces.
SWBAT: Summarize the effects of American entry into the war.
SWBAT: Explain how U.S. troops helped the Allies push back the Germans.

Assignment

The year is 1917, and the United States has been drawn into World War I. Each citizen is called upon to help the war effort. Some will join the American armed forces and go to fight in Europe. Others will work in factories at home, producing weapons and supplies. Even children will do their part.

Your Job: You have been chosen to be part of the Presidents Advisory Board. Your job is to create a multimedia video describing the war effort.
