Objective: Explain how innovations changed and transformed work and daily life in the United States.

CLE: CLE 3a. Z. US HIS Analyze History as it relates to major developments of US History including: c. urbanization, industrialization, post-industrial societies

Do Now: How did daily American life change after the Second Industrail Revolution?

Answer: More Americans worked in factories, innovations such as electricity and the light bulb changed the way Americans worked. Other innovations in fasters transporation and communication allowed Americans to have more free time these innovations also brough the nation and people closer together.

Work Session: In cooperative groups students will create and record an informercial. Informercials should speak from the either of the following prespectives "What if the Second Industrial Revolution had not happened"? "How would life be different without innovations of the 2nd Industrial Revolution?"

Informercials should also convey how American life would be different or how American life was effected by at least three different innovations of the Second Industrial Revolution.

Students have the flexibility to work from a postive or negative perspective.

Homework: Essential Question: (Paragraph Response 5-7 sentences)
Explain positive and negative aspects technological innovations of the late 1800's. Include thoughts on businesses, the nature of work and the ways Americans living was altered?
