This is a lesson plan idea that can be used at the end of a semester or at the end of the school year as a review for concepts and objectives used throughout the year.

1. Teachers model performing a skit on lab safety rules.

2. Students break into small groups and brainstorm all of the concepts they have learned in science since the beginning of the year.

3. Students come back together as a whole group and discuss possible skit topics.

4. Break students into groups of 3-4 and randomly assign them a topic for their skit.

5. Provide students with a rubric of requirements for the skit.

6. Students research the important points about the topic to include in the skit.

7. Students work together to write a script for their skit and submit it to the teacher to check.

8. Give the students opportunities to perform and practice their skits for one another in order to provide feedback and/or get additional ideas.

9. Each group is responsible for creating their visuals, costumes, and props for the skit. Students can create a PowerPoint Presentation or FlipChart (using ActiveInspire) to include in the background of their skit.

10. Students will use a Flip Camera to film their skits.

11. Students will watch the skits as an end of the year or semester review of concepts.

Cross-Curriculum Ideas
Studens can write the scripts for their skits in the language arts classroom.
Follow-Up
Use the recorded skits from the previous school year in order to introduce topics during the current school year.
