Students will act as a news reporter covering the fall of the Roman Empire from the perspective of a modern TV reporter using flip cameras to make videos. In the video, the students will discuss the political, religous and social structures that made Rome an empire and reasons that the empire collasped through mock interviews with Roman citizens.


1. Students will draw a word web listing the factors that helped lead to the fall of the Roman Empire.

2. The students will prepare a script video discussing the key events, persons and places that were factors that helped lead to the fall of the Roman Empire.

3. Students will create a storyboard outlining their video.

4. Students will shoot a video discussing the factors that caused the fall of the Roman Empire.

Students will be assessed using a rubric.
