Here at Greco Middle School we have morning show that reads announcements. Our lesson will give a boost to the morning show with a pre-recorded commercial. The students will create a script for a 30 second commercial. They will rehearse the commercial and finally tape it. They will use a yearbook quality camera on the short video clip setting to record this commercial. Using video editing software they will edit the commercial adding special affects and music. This commercial will play on the morning show to announce yearbook events and messages.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
Students could create commercials or short video using the digital cameras and video editing software to promote an upcoming event, project or classroom activity. They could re-create a scene from a historical event for history or a play for language arts.
