Weekly Small Business Report

Students will be assigned to teams. They will then research local small businesses within our community from different business sectors. Using our local print media, the students will also research current business-related issues within our community. Students will then contact and schedule interviews with local business owners, economic development people, politicians, etc.... They will develop appropriate questions to ask during the interview. The students will then edit their video tapes to be aired in the form of a weekly business report on our local cable channel.

The hope is that the students will engage in inquiry-based learning by developing weekly segments on their own. Who to interview, what to ask, etc.... The other hope is that it will be an opportunity to connect with the community and showcase student talent.

Besides the weekly broadcast, we hope to also make an audio podcast available through my homepage.
