1. Evaluate the inappropriate behavior a child is engaging in and decide the appropriate replacement behavior.

2. Take digital photos of the child engaging in both inappropriate and appropriate behaviors.

3. Use computer software to add text to the photos describing (in simple, repetitive language) the social norms desired.

4. Have student carry around book to read as a reminder of appropriate behavior.

These books can then be used to share with students that are having similar social issues.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
Students can practice public speaking by reading their own familiar social story to their class or a neighboring class.
Follow-Up
Have students follow the formula for their story and make a new book dealing with another social norm.
