Amerikid Idol

I want to create learning centers that incorporate music and technolgy in my room so that it will enhance the learning level of each student. Scientist have proven that the rhythm, melody,and harmony of songs and games stimulate several areas of the brain. Undeniably there is a biology of music. I intend to use songs and games in learning centers according to the different units covered in our curriculum. I want to have a karaoke machine to build skills as my children sing songs in the Read Around The Room center. I want to use ipods in the Listening center so my children can listen as they learn key concepts in reading and math. I would like to use gameboys in my Game center to strengthen my students fluency skills. I would like to use a Wii to help my children learn basic math skills in my Math center. I would like to put a Nintendo DS in my Handwriting center to help my children with their eye-hand coordination.Digital cameras would be used in the Science center to take pictures of simple scientific experiments.In my Computer center, I would like to have a computer to help my children learn basic skills through technology. Each student in my classroom would go to these learning centers weekly. My students will not WIPEOUT when it comes to learning. There will be GOOD VIBRATIONS coming across in my learning centers. Instead of WISHING UPON A STAR, I propose to create a WHOLE NEW WORLD by incorporating music and technology into my centers.
