Guiding Question:
The focus of this lesson is to have students introduce themselves to the class utilizing Windows Movie Maker. Students need to incorporate the following elements into their movie:
Insert a Title page with their name on it
Second piece of media should be a photo of them. This can be taken with a digital camera.
Third – favorite subject with a clipart representation of that subject. (This can be found in a search of images from the Internet and saved to the desktop.)
Fourth – through tenth can be any of the following: family, pets, school activities, favorite musical groups, musical instruments played, favorite books, personal artwork, or any other item that is appropriate and they feel helps tells who they are.

Assessment: I will use the results of this activity to plan future technology lessons and activities.
Learning Connections: I have constructed this lesson so all students can be successful at their cognitive level. In addition, students who possess a higher level of technology skills can use those skills and incorporate those skills into their presentation.
Teaching Strategies: Before the assignment explain all the terms and go through how the software is used.
Management: Utilize my staff to make sure all students are getting help with their project. This activity will also engage all student learning styles in this class and therefore help with classroom management.
Materials and Resources: Students will need access to computers that have Windows Movie Maker downloaded onto it. This is a free download from the Microsoft website.
For students to show their movie to the class the best results are if the teacher can project the movie onto a whiteboard. If not then it can be shown to students if they gather around one computer but this is not optimal.
Lesson Evaluation and Teacher Reflection:
Questions:
In what ways was this lesson effective?
How would you change this lesson for teaching it again?
What did you observe your students doing and learning?
Did your students find the lesson meaningful and worth completing?

Comments
The classroom may or may not have these items.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
Using Windows Movie Maker can be used for any subject to make presentations. It is similar to Powerpoint but I feel that it is much better and the movies can be rendered for use on the Internet.
