Students will be conducting a Multigenre Research Project as described in Melinda Putz’s A Teacher’s Guide to the Multigenre Research Project. For the project, students will research a self-selected topic. The research will be presented in a variety of formats, including at least one technology product (e.g. a video, photostory, powerpoint, etc) and one written project (e.g. a poem, paper, song, etc.) Each product will convey different information learned about the subject. The students will learn about the steps of research - brainstorming, finding a topic, creating questions, finding information, taking notes, synthesizing information, creating a works cited page, and presenting information. The students will consider the most effective way to present their findings and will create a total of four products.
