Prerequisite:
All students will practice observing weather, make and use weather instruments and observe meteorologists forecasting the weather on tv.


Students will then work with their parent or another student to forecast the weather for an assigned area. Students will write a script of the forecast. Then one person will videotape the forecast while the other becomes the meteorologist using correct terminology and weather symbols.

The videos will be shown during science class.

This lesson will provide students with technological and communication skills while acting as a culminating activity for weather.
Comments
Parents will have opportunities to view videos at our School's technology night.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
Students will have to use writing, communication, social and technology skills as well as information learned in science.
Follow-Up
Students can brainstorm other lessons or ideas to be used for other science topics taught in fourth grade with the Flip Cams.
