Objective: Students will organize historical information in text and graphic format and analyze the information in order to draw conclusions.

Materials: Television, dvd player, camcorder,laptop computer, paper, pencils

procedure: After studying various historical events in social studies and various black history events, students will choose an event that captures their attention. They will then use a laptop computer to research the facts and any important information relating to that event. They will browse historical photographs and incorporate clipart to their written text. After gathering their research, they will work in groups of two and write a dramatic scene to accompany their event. Students will practice their parts, act it out and videotape their finished scenes. All students will view each historical event and rate each other with a teacher-made rubric.

Students will review basic math skills such as subrtaction, dates,and timelines.
