Human Genetic Traits Page Views: 3063

1. Students will exhibit their mastery of setting up and completing Punnett squares by using the tablet to project a solution to a previously assigned problem.
2. Students will research the traits given in the lab to determine if they are dominantly or recessively inherited.
3. Student groups will be assigned to a specific volunteer classroom within the school. They will collect data from each student in their assigned class on a variety of human genetic traits such as widow's peak and hitchhiker's thumb.
4. Student groups will take a picture of each example of the phenotypes present in their classroom, both the dominant and recessive forms.
5. All student groups will then complile their data on a spreadsheet by using the tablet/smart board.
6. The class will then analyze the frequency of each allele in our representative student population.
