When I was obtaining my Master's Degree, I had a Teaching Math class which left an impression on me. My professor used the interactive board to access a webpage for math manipulatives. It was like a light bulb going off. I want to be able to present math in this way so my students will become active learners and part of the lesson. I also plan to use the interactive board to provide class competitions during math and other subject areas through different multi-media formats (i.e. games, websites, etc.). Most of my students are visual and kinesthetic learners, so an interactive lesson would reach them better than I could. I am also planning to use the board to present reading practice and skills through our reading program's website. I am currently using the overhead, but I want to turn my classroom into a 21st century classroom. Also, most of our students do not have access to computers, so this will provide more access than our lab does alone.
