NC Standard Course of Study Technology Goal: The learner will use a variety of technologies to access, analyze, interpret, synthesize, apply, and communicate information.
This would be a yearly lesson, where students are engaged and work with technology on a daily basis.
One example: Students will be given a famous American to research. Students will compare information gathered from books, magazines, encyclopedias, as well as multiple web resources. Students will evaluate the information and analyze their findings to come to the conclusion of the best way to get information. Students will also present their findings to their classmates. (NCSCOS English Language Arts Goal 3.06 Conduct research for assigned and self-selected projects (with assistance) from a variety of sources (e.g., print and non-print texts, artifacts, people, libraries, databases, computer networks). and NCSCOS Computer/Technology Goal 1.16 Cite sources of information (print and nonprint) for a class project.)

Comments |
Our school has recently gone wireless, but I only have one classroom computer for students to use. We do have a computer lab, but I would love to have several laptops where students would be able to work on technology projects within the classroom, not just when we are assigned computer lab time, or can schedule extra time in the lab. |
Cross-Curriculum Ideas |
Having laptops would mean that my students would have the opportunity to interact with technology every single day. It would help develop them as 21st century learners and benefit students in ALL subject areas across ALL disciplines. |
Follow-Up |
Students would have activities that they would interact with the computer daily. |
