Create your Super Hero story as a “Choose your own ending” PPT.

Try this interactive writing assignment. "Heroes" have been written in stories over thousands f years, and there is even a kind of "formula" for things the hero goes through. Click here to do this interactive Hero Story.

Or you can use this prompt:
Article Prompt: Today began like every other day at GMS, but then took an ugly turn. Mild mannered science teacher, Mr. Osterfeld, was working in his lab, when “poof-pow-zam”, he disappeared in a puff of smoke. Could it be the work of the diabolical Coach Watson?....or maybe a kidnapping ploy by Mistress Ramsey. Commissioner Sutton is at his wits end. Who can save the day?

NOTES:
•Since this is a choose your own ending story, the reader is making choices....write the story in 2nd person (you) so that they feel part of the story.
•Write a storyboard for your story first. (Basically a table of your slides to put the main information in)
•A character in your PPT must be the printscreened....You may also want to paste it to Photo Editor for later use.
•You must use the superhero you create in your PPT. He/She can be a “hero” or a “villain”. You can also take your own picture and fix it up as a villain in Photoshop.
•The setting is GMS...somewhere....anywhere
•You must have at least two endings, but you can make multiple choices along the way. (You must have at least 3 slides with multiple choices on it)
•You can also include characters/objects made in photoshop elements.
•Make sure you source all your pictures..just give the URL very small somewhere by the picture.
•Sometimes works of fiction include real life experiences….think of things that have happened to you that you could use in your story.
•Non-linear PPTs use “hyperlinks” to get from place to place.
•Never bury yourself at a slide where you can’t return at least to “Home” or another slide.
•Have you notice that non-linear PPTs work somewhat like webpages?
Don't Forget!!!!!!!!!!!! (You will need to be able to explain how to do hyperlinks in PPT)

As you finish, be sure to write Source: www.ugo.com and attach it somewhere on or below the picture.
It is only right to cite your work, and give credit to where you found these superheroes to make.
You always need to give credit to someone for their creations, whether it be the written word, pictures, music, sounds, videos, or anything else!..
Follow-Up
We do these stories in 8th grade, and then have the 6th grade come in do read and peer edit them. They enjoy showing off their stories, and 6th graders get a chance to see how links work in PPT.
