The use of social stories is widely used with the autistic population. Video documentation would bring auditory and contextual cues to a social story. If a student has difficulty with a certain activity we can document another student successfully performing the task. This would give the student the opportunity to witness and memorize what the exact expectations are.

For example, one of my students has difficulty transitioning to the classroom unless he brings a backpack full of toys. I would video a student who comes to class with a back pack with just his snack and extra clothes in it. This would give visual, verbal, and contextual cues for the struggling student.
