Lesson Outline: 1. As grandparents arrive to the classroom, the students will welcome them into the room. 2. Teacher will meet and greet the grandparents and discuss the events planned for the activity. The students have already been given a training on handling and using the flip videos in the classroom. 3. Teacher will express the importance of grandparents (older adults/special people) and how every moment must be treasured. To help do that, the students will be taking this time to ask important questions and video tape the grandparents while answering them. Since some students may have multiple grandparents, the students will have to ask questions and record all of them. 4. Teacher will explain to the grandparents that this opportunity is for them to share stories, tell jokes, and create a lasting memory. 5. If time, the students can then give the flip cameras to the grandparents and have them record and the students can answer questions. 6. Upon the completion of the activity, the students will take their flip cameras and begin the dowloading and burning process. When complete, the students will have a keepsake DVD to share with their grandparents.

Note: Spending and cherishing time with grandparents is very important. One never knows when or how long we will be able to cherish it. I want the opportunity to do this project annually and having flip videos for my classroom will help me continously compelte this project and many more projects with my students. This year I only had enough flip videos for 10 of my students and the rest did podcasts. Having a classroom set would allow many educational opportunities to take place on a more frequent basis. The ones we have now are for the ENTIRE district, making them difficult to use.
