School: Lake Mills High School, Lake Mills, WI
Planned By: Ellen Onsrud
Original Author: Ellen Onsrud, Lake Mills
As part of the Wisconsin-France initiative, our school was awarded a partnership with Lycée Emile Zola in Aix-en-Provence, France. In order to learn about each others hometowns, students at our school and at Zola in France will use the Flip Video cameras to film themselves defining words in English (from France) and in French (from the US) using landmarks in their hometowns to illustrate the word.

To complete the assignment, students will need to:
1. Look at several examples on www.wordia.com to get an idea of the definition style.
2. Decide which word or words they want to define and the landmarks around their hometowns that will help to illustrate the definition. The American students will record in French and the French students will record in English.
3. Record their video using the Flip Video cameras.
4. Turn their videos into their teachers in order for them to be uploaded and shared between the two schools. Our school librarian will collaborate to create a secure site to share the videos.
