After reading Chapter 8 of our World History book, we start working on our Roman Newspaper project. This paper is based on Roman Times. The students are separated into groups of four and asked to complete a project consisting of the following:

1. Each group will come up with a newspaper title.
2. Each newspaper will consist of the following categories: Editorial, Community News, International News, Comics, Horoscopes, Sports, Coupons, and Gossip.
3. Each section of the newspaper will have at least 4 articles. Each article will be at least 3 paragraphs.

The newspaper articles will only be based on Ancient Roman Times. Students are not allowed to utilize modern day information in any of the articles.

Day 1: Students will be separated into groups. Next, they will divide the assignments among the group members. Students will also come to a decision as to the name of their newspaper.

Day 2: Library time for research on Ancient Rome.
Day 3: continued research.
Day 4: Start writing articles.
Day 5: Check articles and start combining into a newspaper.
Day 6: Combine all student's work together. Check for errors.
Day 7: Turn in to teacher and present to class.
