Specific Objectives: Students will show the ability to use passé compose or imparfait in the past tense of French. Students will create a short video story with audio to tell a story in the past.

General Goal(s): 1. ability for 8th graders to be able to tell the difference between passé composé and imparfait in French
2. To support the Lower School French program with some simple stories on video


Students can work in groups no larger than 4 to create a video story in the past. The story can be a traditional fairy tale or an original story using simple vocabulary. (Remember, the audience is the 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade French students.)
1. Write a script in past tense in French. Students must use verbs using passé compose with both être and avoir and the imparfait
2. Scripts will be turned in to Mme Huval for grading and editing.
3. Upon return of scripts, students will have 5 class days to work on staging, videoing, and editing their video story.

Cross-Curriculum Ideas
This middle school project can be used in the Lower School French class. It will also give the Middle School Computer teaching the opportunity to add Movie Maker software to her curriculum. Without a meaningful project, it's hard to teach.
