Students will first begin rewriting their favorite fairy tale incorporating current technology to change the story. For example how would the story of Cinderella change if she could simply send Prince Charming a text telling him that it was her shoe? What if the Miller's daughter could google Rumpelstiltskin? Students will use an in class wiki to collaborate and write the scripts for their story. This will focus on Language Arts skills such as, grammar, punctuation, and spelling. As well as incorporating story telling strategies like character development and main idea. Also using skills like communication and collaboration through a computer to set up wiki site and share their ideas. Once the scripts are complete students will rehearse like a play, create sets and costumes, and video their story to produce a short movie. Last students will use the computer lab of computers with video editing software to edit their movie in order to present it to the class. This lesson will incorporate many technology and language arts skills. Creativity and innovation from the creation of the script. They will constantly be communicating and collaborating with classmates on this project. Students will also use skills like critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making though the entire process. |
