Student Population: 22 first graders (13 are ELL students)
The Flip Camera will be set up on a tripod as a station during Readers' Workshop. The students will be taught how to run the camera independently. Students will sign up when they feel they have a book that is ready to record. During Readers' Workshop time, they will be allowed to go to the Recoding Station and record their book. These recordings will be downloaded and saved on a laptop to be used as a Digital Library station in Readers' Workshop. To expand this idea even further, students may want to record their Readers' Theater performances to share. Both of these stations will help students to become fluent readers. It will also help the students to learn how to use another piece of technology equipment. The Flip Camera will also support vocabulary development for my ELL students. |
