Planned By: Rebekah Hightower
Original Author: Rebekah Hightower, Oklahoma City
Students will work in a group setting to research an important historical event and then write a news broadcast as though they are reporting live from the event.
Students will use research and information fluency skills to research a historical topic, which will range from the signing of the constitution to the assassination of President Kennedy. Students will then apply language arts skills with journalism to write out a broadcast as though they are reporting live from the event. Once students have checked the grammar, spelling, punctuation, as well as the historical facts, they will begin to record their broadcast with a video camera.
Finally students will upload their video content to the computer where they can edit their video to be shared with the rest of the world.
