Length: 2 to 3 Class Periods in the Library (45 minutes Long)
Materials:
Story board created by each research group.
Script created by each research group.
Props gathered by each research group.
Flip Camera one for each group.
Desk top computers one for each group.
Day 1
Each group will bring down their research paper they created about a country.
In each research group they will create a story board about a travel commercial they will produce.
Each commercial must include:
The name of the country
Its capital city
Three famous landmarks
Cultural Celebrations
Why should we go to their country?
The story board will contain four squares and each group will organize their commercial and create a script for their commercial.
Day 2 (to be done in the multi purpose room)
Each group will be given directions on how to use the Flip Camera and will assign one person to run the camera.
The groups will then break off in their groups and shoot their commercial for their country.
Day 3 (to be done in the Computer Lab)
The students will be able to edit their commercial and make it presentable for viewing.
The students will get a lesson in editing.
Each group will edit and down load their commercial.
The commercial will be presented during class time and during Curriculum Night.





Comments
The second grade students are very excited about researching the country they have chosen. They are very dramatic and will do an excellent job in creating the commerical.

Collaboration
Classroom teacher will have helped to create their research projects about the country.
Library will have helped gather the research about the country and create the commercial with the students.
The Computer Teacher will have helped with editing and uploading their commercial.
Follow-Up
The commercial will be presented during class time and during Curriculum Night. The classroom at that time will display the reseach that the students have completed in the process.
