Step 1: Teacher will introduce new vocabulary word to students. Teacher reads vocabulary word in a sentence. Students will match pictures to each sentence assisting them in understanding the words meaning/s.
Step 2: Students, with teachers support, will demonstrate ways to actively show what the vocabulary word means using whole body, They will show the word used in past, present and/or future tense depending on what we are studying in grammar (ELL)
Step 3: Students will work in pairs to write their own sentences/short skit to demonstrate the meaning of the vocabulary word. (Students grouped by grade level to insure they are working from same list of words)
Step 4: Students will, with teacher assistance, video their skit insuring that the word is in the video written on card, with clay or in other creative ways. (At this time the teacher will teach the students how to use the flip video cameras, some experimentation may be necessary for them to understand how to use the camera most effectively for their purpose.)
Step 5: Students will view video's and determine it they want to make changes.
Step 6: If needed changes will be made.
Step 7: Students will complete for 3 vocabulary words (from the list of vocabulary words their gen. ed. classroom is learning)
Step 8: Students will read the story from their classroom and determine the meaning that applies to the story they are reading. This can just be a discussion to reinforce understanding of words in context.

Students with Autism will use vocabulary of emotions. They will work with other students to understanding how we demonstrate different "feelings" |

Students will share their videos with their gen ed classroom, reinforcing everyones understanding of the vocabulary.
