School: Challenger 7 Elementary School, Cocoa, FL
Planned By: Amanda Howell
Original Author: Amanda Howell, Cocoa
At the beginning of the school year in July 2011 (we are a year round school) students will be randomly assigned a specific state from across America. The student will then take that state and learn every detail he/she can throughout the next eighteen weeks through research. The student will then incorporate that knowledge he/she has learned into a vacation destination commercial. The student will be given the opportunity to act in front of a flip video and green screen. The student will also be given the opportunity to dress up and add props if so desired. The student will have a chance to create a skit to perform in front of the video persuading people that watch the video to come to his/her designated state. The student will be the expert on his/her state. These videos will be seen by the school population during morning announcements. The video will also be seen by all parents after the 18 weeks of education at a parent celebration.

This project was created for the Gifted Student Program. I am the teacher of the Gifted Student Program and have very little access to school technology. I have 80 students assigned to me in the Gifted Student Program. The students are from kinder through sixth grade.
Comments
The Gifted Student Program has NO access to any school technology.
