I will use Tool Factory Movie Maker to: •Edit video clips with transitions and effects. •Create a slide show of learning experiences for students, staff, and parents. •Use English and Spanish in recording. •Record class productions and plays. •Video modeling for social skills with students with Autism (best practice).* •Demonstrate reading and math concepts. •Record reviews that give extra time and practice with challenging concepts in academics.
*The social skills curriculum objectives for video modeling include (but is not limited to): -Will show examples of appropriate social skills -Will be able to demonstrate listening to and following verbal and written directions -Will demonstrate how to use polite words and phrases -Will be able to state what emotion is being expressed by looking at facial expressions and body positions -Will be able to determine the appropriate personal space in different social situations -Can state appropriate and inappropriate topics to talk about at school, and can state if a response is on topic or not -Will be able to show examples of what respect means in behavioral terms -Demonstrate the five steps for being a good listener -Be able to show examples of both put-downs and of kind things to say -Be able to show ways of acting with compassion by helping and giving to others -Be able to show examples of responsible and cooperative behavior Role-playing various social situations can be an effective tool for teaching a child appropriate social responses. Video-taping/audio-taping both appropriate and inappropriate social behaviors can assist the child in learning to identify and respond appropriately to various social situations.

Rational: All students are at varying levels of readiness in all topics. They bring unique experiences and talents to the classroom.
These differences are embraced and celebrated. Students should gain knowledge of their strengths and weaknesses as a blueprint for how they learn and where they need help. |
