Objective.
Students will video tape their grandparents(or another older relative) using the Flip Video Cameras. They will learn about the history of technology through their grandparents lives.

1. Students will write invitations to Grandparents for "Grandparent Day".
2. Students will research technology form the 20th Century and design a set of questions to ask grandparents.
3. Students will take lessons from technolgy coach on the use of the Flip Video Cameras.
4.Students will test this knowledge by interviewing each other using the Flip Video Cameras.
5. Students will view their film and discuss how we can improve the use of the cameras.
6.Students will practice reading the set of questions for grandparents.(increasing fluency)
7.Students will bake cookies and prepare decorations for the day.
8.The day of the event students will greet grandparents at the door and seat them. 9.They will offer them refreshments.
10.Working in teams of two/three students will interview and film each others grandparents.
11.Students will visit with grandparents and give a tour of the school.
Students will thank grandparents for coming .
12. Students with the technology coach will load videos onto a a computer and burn discs so that each child will have a copy of their interviews.
13. Students will do a Type 3 writing detailing the changes in technology that they have learned from their grandparents.
14. Students will write thank you notes to their grandparents for coming to visit our school.
