The students will be in groups of 3-4 students. They will be rotating through various stations. Prior to this lesson students have taken reading assessments on an ipad, allowing the students to be grouped by levels. This allows easy access to test results and track progress for each student. It will also give them level appropriate material.

Once the students are in groups, the students will be read a story in groups. The goal is to become a jigsaw listener. A jigsaw listener can hear a story and then hear clips from the same passage out of order and put it back to order. Each group will rotate through the stations. One station is specifically for jigsaw listening. They will hear the story they just read and have to piece the story back together using http://tell.fll.purdue.edu/JapanProj/CIC-JAPIR/Jigsaw.html. 2 ipads are needed for this station. 2 students per ipad. The students will need to work together to create the story.

Once the students finish you can see there thought process through the program and see where the students are getting stuck.
Comments
The students can also use these for math centers. With the use of the IPAD students can take timed test and practice basic math facts without wasting paper. Everything can be submitted directly to me without the students losing papers.
