Students will learn to convert from fractions to decimals and percents and vice-versa.
They will use the methods to find ads on the web for various retail discounts and create an advertisement that shows the discount in fraction and percent form.
They will read various online publications to find examples of decimals, percentages, and fractions in the news. Students will write a breif summary of their findings, including a synopsis of the types of information that the percentages, etc. helped to convey to the reader. This will help integrate literacy across content areas.
Students will create a lesson or game for other students to play to help practice this skill.

In order to acheive this, students will use the ipads for research, development, and implementation of the games and advertisements. Word processing programs, web access, online math practice sites, and access to video editing software will help students create an exciting, technology based presentation.
Students will rate each group based on a rubric that will be published on my webpage. They will be able to blog about the projects as they create them, as well as help each other out when needed.
