In first grade our students need the basics of base ten with place value, adding and subtracting. We wanted our children to experience where base ten would really be used in the real world as well has teaching them teamwork, problem solving creating a product and community service.

We have some of the smaller things we need. We need the technology items.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
We will be working with the community creating holiday boxes, which is part of our Social Studies. They will be writing about the projects and what they have learned as well as using Wallwishers to help them communicate what they have learned and see what others have learned.
Follow-Up
This is a six week long unit and there are many follow-up activities that they will be completing such as using Activote to help us with assessments.
