Students are presented with a scenario involving a tritium release from a local nuclear power plant. They are asked to calculate maximum concentration downwind from the stack, as well as to find where concentration levels exceed a pre-determined threshold using a simplified version of the Gaussian Dispersion Equation. They are asked to answer questions about their equations, including maximum value, point of intersection, domain and range, and the location of any horizontal asymptotes. They are also asked to interpret all of these things in the context of the situation presented to them. |
