Chemistry students will research a pharmaceutical drug (must be approved by the teacher). The students then will make a brochure and a video commercial to try to sell and promote the drug that they picked.

Students must include the following items in their brochure and video commercials:

Checklist for content items (IUPAC name & common/store name, Molecular Formula, Drug Structure, Background/Introduction, Side Effects, Facts, Drug Company, Cost, and Frequently Asked Questions)

The students will be graded on the following for the brochure:
Attractiveness/Organization: The brochure has exceptionally attractive formatting & well-organized information.
Content/Accuracy (Ideas): The brochure has all required information (see checklist) and some additional information.
Writing/Mechanics (Conventions): All of the writing is done in complete sentences. Capitalization & punctuation are correct throughout the brochure.
Graphics/Pictures: The graphics go well with the text & there is a good mix of text & graphics.
Sources: There are ten citations accurately cited within the brochure (MLA)

The students will be graded on the following for the video:
Content: The video is 3-4 minutes in length. Covers topic in-depth with details and examples. Subject knowledge is excellent.
Presentation: Well-rehearsed with smooth delivery that holds audience attention. The commercial had great audio and excellent acting skills!
Technical/Creativity: Excellent effects, background music was added and unique to commercial computer graphics & animations were added.
Mechanics/Grammar/English: Excellent use of voice, tone, speaking, and grammar skills
Sources/credits: There are ten citations accurately cited within the video (MLA)/RUNNING CREDITS at the end of video
