Community Outings

Students are required to communicate their needs, with staff, while out in the community setting.
They order food, make proper change to pay for food and are able to count the change they receive.

Students make a grocery list at school and shop at a local grocery store. They purchase food for their cooking class that they have at school.
They have to pay for their groceries and communicate with people.

We need IPADS or some other form of technology for these non-verbal students to communicate with people in the community. Unfortunately parents of these students as well as the school district can't afford this kind of technology. We would like these students to be current on the advanced technology that is available.
