School: Longfellow Middle School, Mt. Vernon, NY
Planned By: patricia alexander
Original Author: patricia alexander, Mt. Vernon
The producer can use any historical figures to narrate a timeline. With the theme of "new year" this timeline will interview American historic figures at a New Year's Eve party. The question posed to each guest will be "what do you hope for the coming year?" The figure will answer the question, then the action will freeze as a voicever announces "what reaaalllyyy happened." The video will cut to a scene illustrating what really happened. For example 1838 "President Jackson, any resolutions." "Of course, I hope to ensure that all Native Americans live in a home which they can find peace and happiness in". What reaallyy happened? The clay animation would then transport the viewer to the Trail of Tears, with dialogue indicating why the Cherokee are moving west of the Mississippi River. Other "guests" can be President Lincoln, Martin Luther King Jr., President Nixon or any other variety. The lesson is adaptable to a variety of guests.
