QR Codes Use and Design

Objective:
Getting the students to design and deliver presentations on emerging technologies. Many retail businesses, schools and non profit organizations are using QR Codes to offer services, products and promotion of events. In today's workforce, students need to be taught what a QR Codes is, how they came about and what it can do for many organizations.

Lesson:
This semester I have challenged students to present classroom presentations on emerging technology. This project has allowed students to gain public speaking skills, self confidence, as well as sharing educational information about emerging technology. It has been very interesting and informative. This particular student explained QR Codes, QR Readers and how they can benefit retail businesses, schools and non profit organizations. She then took the students to a website and assisted the students in making QR Codes with images, URL or text. Upon completion of each making their CR Code, the presenter engaged the students with conversations describing how each could use QR Codes to simplify their lives. Students all identified ways they could implement QR Codes. Some students even expressed a desire to become an entrepreneur and create CR Codes for businesses.
