I have created a WebQuest for my students to walk through and complete for this lesson. See my website below to see the WebQuest in it's entirety.

This WebQuest begins by asking the students to think about what copyright is and if they have, up to date, broken this law. As the students progress through the WebQuest, they will find out what exactly copyright is, what types of resources online that it pertains to, how long items are copyrighted for, and what the punishment for breaking copyright law is.

The end product will be the students creating a 30-45 second PSA (Public Service Announcement) based on what they learned.

Cross-Curriculum Ideas
After students have found all the necessary research, have the Language Arts students create the script instead.
Have the economics classes figure out how much breaking copyright law actually costs citizens.
Follow-Up
Watch all groups videos. Have students make notes about the videos they are watching to give to the original group to read.
