• 2L6 - Use words and phrases acquired through conversations, reading and being read to, and responding to texts,
including using adjectives and adverbs to describe (e.g., When other kids are happy that makes me happy).
• 2RL4 - Describe how words and phrases (e.g., regular beats, alliteration, rhymes, repeated lines) supply rhythm
and meaning in a story, poem, or song.
• 2RL9 - C ompare and contrast two or more versions of the same story (e.g., C inderella stories) by different authors
or from different cultures.
• 2.MD-C .7 - Tell and write time from analog and digital clocks to the nearest five minutes, using a.m. and p.m.
Follow-Up
Have students discuss their favorite books and why it was their favorite. Compare those with other student's favorites. Setup a center for "Time Game". The teacher will show a flash card with a time and the students race to set their clocks to that time.
