Students will use mobile devices and tablets to see the larger world around them. In this day and age we need to be teaching with technology so that students can think critically and problem solve outside of the classroom.
With the mobile devices and tablets, my math class can use interactive games and applications to practice and master the skills that are taught in the classroom lessons.
With the mobile devices and tablets, my science students can do virtual labs to explore the concepts that are taught in the classroom. For example when we are learning about the skeletal system and joints, I will have the students use the tablets/mobile devices to use the edheads virtual knee surgery and virtual hip replacement surgery. When studying earth science we can use K12 Virtual labs to test the properties of minerals. In Life science we can use biomanbio.com for games and virtual labs about cells. In physical science we can use learningscience.org/pcs2bmotionforces.htm to do interactive lessons about motions and forces.
The mobile devices can also help my students review and practice for assessments through applications such as quizlet and kahoots. |
