Students explore possible world regions through informational texts, websites, and iPad apps, such as Discovery Education PebbleGo, Enchanted Learning, & QR Activities
Students explore North America Discovery Education Board and create one of of their own for a continent of their choice
Read and respond to Scholastic News/ Weekly Readers of world regions
Collaborative Country Project: Groups of students are given a country with the name marked out & they must work together to notice the landforms, longitude and latitude, and neighboring countries. The next day, groups may use texts, maps, and digital tools to try to figure out which country they have been given. After figuring out which country they have been assigned, they can complete a Cool Country Research & Report project.

DE Writing Prompt: How does the geography of a place impact the lives and the culture of the people who live there?
Create thinking maps of world regions (Ex. Bubble map with describing words for region, tree map categorizing the landforms found in the region, double bubble maps comparing one region to another)
Science Notebook Entries (For example, write about the animals found in the region, write about something new that you learned about a region this week, etc.).
Students read relative articles through Subtext iPad app and respond by creating an interactive comment, question, or poll (see example below).
Explore world regions through personalized, differentiated Discovery Education Assignments, such as boards with media clips & writing prompts (see examples below).
Students complete a Travel Brochure Activity for their state or country
