For this project, you will use Google Maps, Pics4Learning, and NOAA Weather to describe a trip from [our city] to somewhere in the continental United States. Remember that "continental" means that the states must connect to each other! Therefore, you cannot choose destinations in Alaska or Hawaii.
Using these tools, use the worksheet to answer the following questions. You will write a short essay in a Microsoft Word document. Save the file in your folder.
1. Where are you traveling to? 2. How many miles away is it? 3. If you drive 12 hours a day, how many days will it take to reach your destination? 4. If you leave tomorrow, what day will you arrive? 5. What will the weather be like on the day of your arrival at your destination? 6. What are some things you should pack to be prepared for the weather? 7. Using Pics4Learning, find and copy some pictures of the place you’re going. Paste them into your Word document. Don’t forget to cite your source – they appear underneath each picture. 8. What will you visit at your destination?
Have a good time! |
