Goal: For students to read the story “My Robot” (or another Robot story) and be able to write a story about one then read paragraphs orally (or interview robots with flip camera.)

1.Students will read “My Robot” in the reading book. •NOTE: I have a link from my website with many different pre created robot templates and more. Listed below as “Amy Champagne’s Robot Page” below.
•MS Word Templates (Students can type in template) •PowerPoint Templates (for students) •Writing prompts •Robot graphic organizers •Blacklines •Robot interactives for students and more
2.Reading; Build background by making a T-Chart about Robots. *NOTE: As homework, the students can make robots at home and bring those to school.
3. Have students share what they know about robots. What are they? How could they be used?
4. Have the student imagine what it would be like to “have a personal robot.”
5. Our reading series had the story “My Robot” however you could read children’s books to the students about robots. Once the story has been read, discuss story elements.
6. Students will use a (Four Square graphic organizer or any other) graphic organizer to write a personal story on robots.
7. Students will “type” their robot story using MS word, PowerPoint or a blog. The students can use a point and shoot camera to take pictures of their robots to insert into their own story.
8. Students will create Robot Online Avatars. (Listed “Avatar” link at the bottom)
9. The final portion will involve using a flip camera for “Robot Interviews.” Then share the video interviews with the students. |

Students can create robots at home and bring those to school. The robots will be filmed as the students read their paragraphs.
