Title: Polar Bears

Subject: Writing, Science
Objectives:*Identify where polar bears live(Habitats)
*Explain characteristics of polar bears (Produce, expand, and edit sentences)
*Write an informative piece about polar bears
Materials needed:
*students will watch a video segment on polar bears from the internet
*examples of polar bears playing, treading water, close-up pictures
*pencil, paper
* vocabulary cards

Procedure: Students will help teacher create a KWL chart for polar bears. Students will then draw a picture of what they know about polar bears. After this is created and discussed.students will need to access the internet and watch a video on polar bears. Teacher will direct students to think about adjectives that describe polar bears. Students will then write these to create an informative piece on polar bears. Students will then add verbs to this piece to show what they do.
This activity can be extended by watching a video about how polar bears are threatened. Vocabulary words and vocabulary activity will enhance this lesson.

Assessment: Student's writing will be graded with a rubric an graded accordingly.
Materials: Mobile Labs, Headsets, Elementary
