Questions students will use in the planning of the vacation:

1. Where will we go?
2. What will we do?
3. How will we get there?
4. How long will it take?
5. Where will we stay?
6. How much gas will we need?
7. What will we eat?
8. What will be the approximate cost of the vacation?
The students will be responsible for keeping all receipts and recording all collected information in a journal. Students will also write about their experiences of planning the summer vacation with their family.

Overall Question:
How does math affect my decisions for planning a summer vacation?

Teacher Input:
The teacher will explain the project to students, giving the details for what is expected and guidelines on completed project.

Guided Practice:
The teacher, throughout the year, will guide students with the use of the Word Processor, Spreadsheet, Database, and Math Draw components of Tool Factory Workshop V3.

Independent Practice:
Students will use information obtained through classroom assignments and practice entering collected data into the Database. Students will practice using the Word Processor by creating an expense book. A ledger will be made using the Spreadsheet component.
