What can we grow indoors? Fruits, vegetables, canioverous plants, houseplants.

Have students in groups
Notetaker

Time: all year

Have studetns brainstorm what kind of plants would be useful to grow inside if possible.
Have students research how to prepare seeds of lemon, lime trees, cheli plants, etc..
Research about lighting and watering.


If it is possible to grow more then just a houseplant inside share what they have learned by reading and sharing what has grown.

My class has a Venus fly trap that we have successfully kept alive all year! They are always curious when I tell them I have grown a lemon tree inside my home. I think having the next generation learn about growing plants inside would make them enviornmental savy for the future generation.
Cross-Curriculum Ideas
Cross curriculum would include measuring how much space is needed per plant wight and height. Students would take endless noes and draw conclusions,
Follow-Up
What worked what didn't have students present. Take home what they learned, grew and enjoy. Begin again with the next year and group of students.
