Lesson Plan
1) Introduction to Civilization. Students will play the tutorial, learn how to manipulate units, harvest resources, utilize workers, gain technologies and knowledge.
2) Full game. Students will attempt to achieve one of the goals of the game and explain their methods of success. At the end of each class period, students are presented with questions that relate to all core subjects.
3) 100 Years in Rome. Students will play the scenario twice for 100 years each time. Class discussions occur on what happens when you develop a single city versus multiple cities. Students will answer what happens when you concentrate too much on technology development rather than building your weapons? How are politics involved in your decision making and how is diplomacy affected?
5) Discovery. Students will use online tools such as Prezi to illustrate the advancements they have made. Then they will relate it to real world scenarios. |
