Use information gained from illustrations (e.g., maps, photographs) and the words in a text to demonstrate understanding of the text (e.g., where, when, why, and how key events occur).

Lesson:
Ask students if they would like to play on the Chromebooks?

On the Smartboard or projector bring up the activity you wish the students to complete. The visual aid will help reduce any misunderstandings of where the students are supposed to be.

Have the students open the Chromebooks and log on. Next explain them to how to get to ducksters at the following website:

https://www.ducksters.com/geography/state.php?State=Arkansas

Once
the students have reached the website ask them to click on Geography. Then scroll down and click on North and Central America map.
Allow the students to play the game naming the states by selecting the state requested. Walk around and help any student who needs assistance. Allow the students adequate time to complete the activity.

Once everyone has completed the activity discuss where Arkansas was on the map. Allow students to discuss what they learned from this activity.

Close the lesson by having the students put away their Chromebooks and moving on to their next activity.

Progress will be monitored by the teacher walking around and writing their score on the game on a pad. Their score will be their grade. As the students learn the states their scores will increase.
